About
For me goldsmithing is a way to capture stories and make them tangible: forging memories, marking moments and creating a legacy that lasts. My work is fed by the people who shaped me: my grandparents, my parents and my family.
In my collection Keeper of Roots: Legacy, Akar Bahar is both a symbol of strength and connection and an important material. This special root from the sea near Indonesia and the Moluccas is worked into every piece, as an invitation to embrace your own roots. Together with Shelly Lapré I host the workshop Goudomrande Verhalen at Rozet in Arnhem. With batik, gold thread and gold leaf you turn your memories and family story into a personal artwork. No creative experience needed. The last edition of 2026 is on Saturday 7 November, from 10:00 to 16:00. The price is €150, including all materials, coffee, tea and an Indonesian snack.
